SARS COVID-19 Testing
| PCR |
We Utilize a real-time RT-PCR molecular test for the SARS-Cov2 virus that causes the COVID-19 respiratory syndrome. This test is also designed to rule out Influenza and Respiratory Syncytial Virus that have common symptoms to COVD-19.

The use of real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is the solution to the issues previously associated with conventional methods of pathogen testing. PCR breaks down DNA to fragmental components so that it can duplicate and amplify the genetic material present. This is critical for diagnosing and identifying infectious diseases. We are able to isolate the genetic material of viruses, and generate millions of copies to demonstrate the presence of such viral infections. Thus, we PCR allows laboratory technicians to identify microorganisms on the molecular level, which is highly accurate. This also allows us to detect the presence of microorganisms before their growth and before the result in symptoms.
| Antigen Tests |
Rapid coronavirus testing can be completed using an antigen test, a diagnostic tool that is used to determine an active infection for a virus such as COVID-19. In many cases, antigen tests provide same-day results, in as little as 10 minutes. A test sample is obtained using a Center for Disease Control approved test for detecting positive COVID-19 infections. If a test come back positive, we will then proceed to a PCR test to double check our findings.
Negative results in a patient that has persistent symptoms of viral infection may require confirmation testing with the standard PCR test (molecular test type), also available with TLM with results within 12 hours.
